Urology is defined as the branch of medicine and surgery concerned with the study, diagnosis and treatment of diseases and abnormalities of the urogenital tract of the male and the urinary tract of the female. The practice of urology involves, aside from routine diagnostic and surgical work, special knowledge and skills in the treatment of pediatric urologic problems, infections of the urinary tract, infertility and sterility, male sexual problems, testicular and prostate cancer. Vasectomy is a minor surgical procedure to cut and close off the tubes (vas deferens) that deliver sperm from the testes; it is usually performed as a means of contraception. Cystoscopy .
